Man's Fascination with Gold
Since ancient times this most splendid and lustrous yellow material has been one of the worlds most prized and coveted precious metals.

Gold was used as a form of money in China around 1000BC and as a medium of international trade by the Egyptians around 1500BC. More recently, gold coins were used by the Romans around 50BC. The price of gold became the official monetary standard in Great Britain around 1700AD.
